The NBA playoff season has officially kicked off. With some of the best teams battling out in the first round, there are some teams that unfortunately did not make the playoffs. These included King James’ Lakers and the Wizards. No one expected LeBron James to sit at home during the playoffs, especially this season.
For Lakers fans, this was a hard hit. Criticism started pouring in, blaming the players and the coaches for this downfall. As the teams try to make adjustments for the next season, players look to take a rest before they start their grind. Though some fans reminded the players of their blunder.

After the Lakers’ poor season, fans did not feel like sugarcoating the players after a terrible season. Expectations were high during the start of the season as the Lakers brought in veterans and other players to add depth. The Washington Wizards who had a better record than the Lakers this season did not make the playoffs either. Seeing LeBron and Kyle Kuzma sit at home during the postseason, fans reminded them what they had missed.

Kuzma averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists this season for the Wizards. The team stood 12th in the East, as they were eliminated from any playoff contention.

LeBron James had yet another great season, averaging 30 points per game at 37. Team defense for the Lakers seemed pretty off, which had them lose buckets.
Though this was an unexpected performance for the Lakers, not only adjusting the roster, but an intelligent coach can help the players a lot.

Lakers have parted ways with coach Frank Vogel, as they now look for a new head coach. This was the second time that LeBron had missed the playoffs in the last 16 years. King had played in the playoffs for 12 years straight before being eliminated from contention in 2018. It will be interesting to see what the Lakers look for in the offseason.
