Joshua Giddey, a 19-year-old professional basketball player, plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association.  He played 28 matches last season in Australia’s National Basketball League.

The Oklahoma City Thunder player set another franchise record shortly after joining the team for the new NBA season.

During the match with Los Angeles Lakers, we can see Carmelo Anthony coming to Giddey’s help as the latter is about to fall.

LA Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder by setting a score of 116-95 on Saturday. Despite the defeat, Giddey has shown a great performance as a newcomer for the thunders against the Lakers as he racked up 12 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. Giddey recorded incredible stats in four consecutive games for the first time in Thunder history.

Sportsmanship at its best with Carmelo Anthony

There was an incident in the game that shows Giddey making a lay-up as Anthony tries to stop him. Despite Anthony’s foul, the Lakers superstar came to Giddey’s rescue saving the latter from a, particularly nasty fall.

In August of 2021, Anthony signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, and in October he made his debut with nine points, four rebounds, and two assists against the Golden State Warriors.

 However, Giddey’s stellar performance was not enough, as the Lakers cruised to a victory.

He discusses his experience with the Thunder to the media after the game. OKC has produced only eight wins so far this season, which places them second from the bottom in the Western Conference standings.

“The stats are cool and stuff, but if it’s not resulting in wins, then I guess it’s pointless,” Giddey said later.
