WNBA star Brittney Griner has been in the news for quite some time now. She was arrested in Russia earlier this year after officials accused her of carrying illegal substances in her luggage. Following months of a legal battle, Griner pleaded guilty, and she was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison.

Since her controversial arrest, people worldwide are divided on Griner’s issue. While some feel she should serve her time in Russia, some feel the officials should take efforts to bring her back.

Recently, WNBA star Breanna Stewart commented on Griner and pointed out that she had completed more than 200 days in prison. She posted her message on Twitter, which has urged fellow Twitter users to join Stewart and show solidarity for Brittney Griner.

Amidst all that, she has certainly not forgotten about a fellow WNBA star. Stewart tweeted in favor of Brittney Griner recently, which has urged fans from across the world to give their opinions. Here are some of the reactions.

Stewart has had many memorable matches against Brittney Griner in the league. While BG played for the Phoenix Mercury, Stewart represented the Seattle Storm.

She has two Olympic Gold Medal to her name, much like Griner. The Mercury star represented the USA National Team in Rio 2016 and also during the Tokyo Olympics of 2020. She has won the Gold Medal on both occasions.

Griner’s career in the WNBA is nothing less. She was drafted as the #1 overall pick during the 2013 draft. Since then, she has dominated the league like no other.
