“You Don’t Find Me Ugly Crying for No Reason..”: Stephen Curry Makes Honest Confession That May Not Sit Well with Kevin Durant

The stage was set for the Golden State Warriors to regain their position as the champions. After a brief hiatus, the Bay is finally back. Powered by a masterful display by Stephen Curry, they trumped the Boston Celtics in six games in this year’s NBA Finals.

However, this time was different. Right before the decisive whistle, emotions poured out for the reigning Finals MVP. After being written off, the Warriors solidified their dynasty. A fourth championship returned to San Francisco after a long wait. Likewise, the triumph was arguably the most special for the organization.

Reflecting on his emotional reaction, Steph said their recent triumph is the most meaningful one of them all. After watching from the backseat for the last two seasons, Curry finally shut down his critics by winning the Finals MVP. The two-time MVP said his tears generally don’t overflow for no reason.

The Warriors were coming off a huge loss losing Kevin Durant three seasons prior. Likewise, it took a big toll as the franchise failed to see the playoffs for two seasons straight. However, coming back from an injury, with the right pieces, Stephen Curry was ready to make the climb up once again. Explaining the raw emotions the night he became a four-time champion, the Baby-faced Assassin said his tears don’t come out unless it’s special.

Curry explained, “You don’t find me ugly crying on the court for no reason. The raw emotion that came out after Game 6 kind of signaled how much this meant to me, how much this meant to our team.”

The first one, you don’t really know what you’re doing until you accomplish it and then you’re celebrating. The next two were kind of validation for trying to remain champions. But after these last three years and winning, definitely the most special,” he added.

In the era of KD, the Warriors had redemption on their minds. 2016 was probably one of the most humiliating moments in franchise history. Hence, having a four-time scoring champion turned out perfect for asserting themselves as the best team. However, post-Durant, the Warriors fell off. And it was up to Stephen Curry and his teammates to build them back up. After analysts wrote off the only unanimous MVP, Curry answered with a bang. The rise back to the top was finally complete. Likewise, Steph’s emotions were all over the place.
