The Los Angeles Lakers have been trying their best to keep performing despite the problems with their roster. The team has shown some promising signs with four victories in their last five encounters, despite LeBron James missing out on a few games. The Lakers superstar has recently returned to the team in their 105-94 victory against the San Antonio Spurs.

However, James’ absence allowed his teammate Anthony Davis to step up and put in some brilliant performances. As a result, 7-time NBA champ Robert Horry has urged LeBron James to “get his a** down on the floor” and give AD a chance to take the lead.

Robert Horry recently praised the efforts of Anthony Davis with the Lakers on his podcast Big Shot Bob. Horry showered praises on Davis, who has been a sensation on the court in LeBron’s absence. The eight-time All-Star has averaged 26.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 16 appearances this season.

While praising Davis, Horry reckoned that the Lakers star’s current form made him unstoppable. He claimed that probably only few players, including Giannis Antetokounmpo ,had the ability to guard AD.

Horry offers stern advice to LeBron James

The co-host B-Dog pointed out that LeBron James‘ presence on the court might have been affecting his teammates’ confidence in their abilities. He reckoned that Davis started to ‘defer’ when LeBron was on the court. B-Dog felt that in James’ absence, Davis was left with no choice but to perform.

Meanwhile, Horry claimed that the Lakers could still have a more active AD with LeBron on the floor. He suggested that LeBron needed to get off the ball. Moreover, Robert Horry said“To me, if I’m honest LeBron, you are not the point. Your point-forward days are over. You know, that was two years ago. When the rebound is get, get you a** down the floor.”

Robert Horry pointed out that LeBron had a tendency to dribble and take a step back shot on occasions. The former NBA veteran told James that he needed to bring Anthony Davis more into play in order to get successful results in the future. Meanwhile, Horry felt that every ball that went down the floor needed to go through AD to get better results for the Lakers. The NBA legend believed that Anthony Davis was being overshadowed by LeBron James’ dominance while suggesting the example of Kevin Love at the Cleveland Cavaliers

Thus, the Lakers legend felt that Davis being more active and confident about his abilities, with an open floor to dominate could be the best thing for the team.
