Golf has had a captivating effect on athletes from different fields. The greens have become the place where greats of their respective sport come together. It is also an incredible equalizer as no matter who you are, on a golf course, you’re an amateur. The story rings true for people like Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, and many more. However, among the equals, Brady pales in comparison to several NBA legends, including the one who was berated by the 6x NBA champion.

However, for him to mock someone who he respected was surely something new. Despite receiving harsh comments from MJ for his golfing skills, the 66-year-old has enough credibility on a golf course to belittle the greatest quarterback of all time.

So when it comes to him taking an interest in golf, he had to nail the role and that’s basically what he has done till now. Not just that, but he’s so good at it, that he trash-talks others for their skills as well.

One such victim of the classic MJ trash talk was Larry Bird. Jordan chose just the perfect time to do that too after beating the Bird-coached Indiana Pacers in the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals.
We saw a snippet of it in The Last Dance documentary when MJ and Bird met after the game. The two embraced each other, after which the Boston Celtics legend told him, “Y’all gave us a run for our money.” Responding to the comment, His Airness said, “All right, take care. Now you can work on that golf game of yours.”
Notably, the Bulls legend has a handicap of 1.3.

However, Bird has a better stat as compared to the 7x Super Bowl champion.

Comparing Larry Bird’s and Tom Brady’s golfing skills
The two distinguished gentlemen are among the biggest names in their respective sports. However, they aren’t the type of people who will settle down with the accomplishment. They also share a love for golf, like many other sporting legends. So checking who ranks higher on a golf course between the two legends, let’s have a look at their handicap.
The NFL legend has a handicap of 8, which is good. In fact, a handicap of 10 or below is decent, especially for an amateur.
However, Bird takes it up a notch. He has a handicap of 4.1, which blows Brady’s numbers out of the water. Safe to say that the Hick from French Lick is one hell of an athlete!
However, it seems like you just can’t beat the GOAT in anything.
