James Harden is one of the most skilled NBA athletes of this generation and a future NBA Hall of Famer. During his MVP season with the Rockets in 2017, he showed everyone why ‘The Beard’ should be feared. However, in the new NBA season of 2023, Harden is struggling to perform consistently at an elite level like he did in the late 2010s.

In a recent podcast episode, a 7x NBA champion compares a certain tendency of James Harden’s to Philadelphia 76ers legend, Allen Iverson. But what could this tendency be?

In the most recent podcast episode of “Big Shot Bob Podcast”, 7x NBA champion Robert Horry analyses James Harden as a basketball player.

Horry explains, “When I look at James Harden, he is a dynamic player that he needs to have role players to play with him.” He further explains, “You need the two guard to do ‘this’ and only ‘this’ at a high level…everyone has to do their role on a high level.

Robert Horry then goes on to compare Harden to Allen Iverson in the Philadelphia 76ers. The 7x NBA champion says, “If you see…every team Harden has been successful on has been the same team that Allen Iverson was on with Philly.”

Robert Horry explains that everyone on Iverson’s Philadelphia 76ers was a really good role player. This allowed Allen Iverson to “do whatever he wants”. Horry claims that James Harden needs the same thing in his team.

He was a former Philadelphia 76ers star, who provided him with everything he needed to compete at the highest level. However, after Harden’s exit from Philadelphia, the 76ers fans were not pleased with Harden’s need for a ‘super team’.

The Los Angeles Clippers are already a very well-stacked and balanced team without Harden. Many, including Robert Horry, believe that the Clippers might face a “too many cooks spoil the broth” issue with James Harden after his first five games with the NBA team. The LA Clippers are now out of the ‘In-season’ NBA tournament.
