The New York Jets quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, went down with an Achilles injury earlier in September. This is an injury that has derailed the careers of a lot of players. Although an injury like this at his age used to be career-ending, Rodgers is making a miraculous recovery. He is hoping to get back to the field as soon as he can to rejoin his team.

A 7-time NBA champion reflects that, during his time in the league, he has seen countless players facing this injury. But never did he see someone make a comeback within a year. This made him completely reject the idea of Rodgers making a return in three months, and he is not ready to believe any of the rumors.

During a recent episode of the Big Shot Bob podcast, Robert Horry was asked if he heard the recent return date revealed by Aaron Rodgers. Rob Jenner, a co-host on the show, told Horry that Rodgers is trying to make his way back to the field in December.

Horry was not at all ready to believe this. He was so perplexed that he started throwing out conspiracy theories to justify the possibility of the news being real.

Horry said, “Have you all seen the movie ‘They Cloned Tyrone’? They have cloned Aaron Rodgers cause there ain’t no way an old man can get back that fast from an Achilles tear.”

Horry has seen stars like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant suffer Achilles injuries. All of them took significant time to make their recovery and make their way back on the court. But Rodgers has now revealed his plans to return to the field in mid-December.

As soon as Aaron Rodgers was diagnosed with his Achilles tear, he thought of Kobe Bryant. Rodgers did not want to cause any delay, and he called the same doctor who performed the surgery for Kobe. They scheduled the surgery as soon as they possibly could. Rodgers feels that not delaying the surgery was also one reason he was able to recover so quickly.

On top of this, Rodgers is constantly going to physical therapy. With all the hard work that he has put in so far, it’s just a matter of time before the four-time MVP steps back on the field.

I did not follow the traditional route to become a journalist, but my love for basketball and writing has brought me here. Seeing LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers make the iconic comeback from a 1-3 deficit in 2016 changed everything for a young engineering aspirant within me. Rather than simply looking at the game, I love to analyze how each player contributes to a team using BPM (Box Plus Minus) and other advanced metrics.
