Rubi Rose posted a photo of herself on X on November 4th, and Paul Pierce responded with the comment “my crush” under the model’s image, and Rubi Rose replied with “text me then,” a phone number, and a rose emoji. The phone number Rose listed is one that sends texts to update her followers. The flirtatious encounter sparked heated controversy on social media, with many arguing about the two’s 20-year age gap.

A fan with username “Flex” roasted Paul writing “Bro, older than his jersey number talking about “my crush” and Paul replied to it by saying “Damn my guy u ugly as hell.”

A Lakers fan who is also seen as a secret admirer of Rose with the username “Street Clothes” and a sad Will Smith picture replied to their post, saying “Paul Pierce doesn’t deserve you.” 

“The Truth” shows interest in the 26-year-old

Paul Pierce, sometimes known as “The Truth,” was a divisive character throughout his playing career and has remained so in retirement. Pierce isn’t one to keep his personal life hidden from the world. The NBA champion appeared in Kevin Garnett’s Showtime series, KGCertified in June, to introduce his former comrade to a lady he claimed he hired for the day as his girlfriend.

Pierce’s statements seemed to irritate many an X user who believed he was too old for the artist. Following everyone’s disrespect for the Boston Celtics’ star on X, comedian Lil Duval wrote, “Women prove how hypocritical they are every day on here,… How yall mad at Paul Pierce for shooting his shot at Rubi Rose? But praise young Miami and diddy?”

A fan said, “Dude you are pushing 50 years old. That is a little girl compared to you. Its sick that you even look at her that way smh!”
