As the Lakers wrap up their meetings with prospects during the final days of the NBA combine draft, the buzz surrounding their coaching search continues to grow. While the Lakers maintain that their coaching hunt remains a “wide open” process, it’s still very much in its early stages. However, it’s not where it began.

It all started following the dismissal of Darvin Ham. Since then, the Lakers have embarked on a thorough investigation of potential candidates, coaches, and intriguingly, broadcaster-podcaster JJ Redick. While the Lakers claim that candidate interviews are nearing completion, many around the NBA consider Redick their favorite, offering lower chances of disapproval.
Paul Pierce dismisses JJ Redick’s candidacy for Lakers’ coach
However, Paul Pierce sees things differently and dismisses the notion of JJ Redick as a viable candidate. To share his insights about Redick as the Lakers’ coach, he sat down with All the Smoke. The snippet was then uploaded to the official YouTube channel of All the Smoke and posted with the title, “Rudy vs. Jokic, Donovan Mitchell’s Future, Lakers Next Head Coach | Ticket & The Truth.“

As anticipated, the video quickly ignited a storm online, capturing the attention of viewers far and wide. Pierce began by saying, “Reddick, because you know he sounds like he’s got a high IQ, you know that’s my IQ, but that doesn’t have anything to do with sitting on that bench, managing personalities, calling plays, and then even homing.”
He added, “You think JJ Redick was top one or two and you think JJ Redick talks like he’s got Steph Curry or something. I don’t see it. Kudos to him, man…You know I don’t. That job is set up for scrutiny and set up for just… But look at this though. Look at how it’s set up for somebody to be the scapegoat. I’m just looking at coaches and how they.” JJ Redick isn’t the only one with diverse views.
