Magic Johnson remains one of the most iconic players to don the purple and gold jersey. After dominating the NBA for well over a decade, he seems to be enjoying his life since retiring from the game of basketball. Recently, he was spotted enjoying a centuries-old spectacle that has a rather special and insane story behind it.

It’s fair to assume that Johnson has done his fair share of travel. But when he made a recent trip to the European nation of Montenegro, also known as the “Black Mountain”, he was taken aback as he was marveling at an architectural beauty.

Magic Johnson had his mouth wide open when he came across a church whose construction started in the late fifteenth century and took almost 200 years to complete. The Balkan nation impressed the NBA Hall of Famer so much so that he didn’t think twice before calling it the most stunning and spectacular place that he’s ever been to.

Johnson wrote, “Montenegro is one of the most spectacular and stunning places we’ve ever been!!”

The architecture in question is Our Lady of the Rocks, and it was built by the local sailors. It’s one of the two islets off the coast of Perast in the Bay of Kotor. This was not the first time Johnson was out of words after witnessing something legendary.

Magic Johnson left awestruck by Michael Jordan

Five-time NBA champion Magic Johnson once trash-talked with Michael Jordan. The incident occurred when the duo were involved in a practice game for Team USA in Monaco. They both were part of the legendary ‘Dream Team’ which won the gold medal for Team USA.

He said, “So David Robinson went to the ground, he 360ed, tongue moving, and dunked it. In a practice game. And I was like, oh my goodness.” As it turns out, talking down Jordan never works, as later Johnson surely regretted talking trash to his international teammate and NBA rival.
