Tormented by “Nightmares” Over New NBA Role, Andre Iguodala Confesses to Stress-Ridden Affair

Andre Iguodala has been making a lot of moves since his retirement from the league. But none was as surprising as his being announced as a key member of the NBA. Andre Iguodala was recently announced as the acting executive director of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).

With this new role, new responsibilities have fallen on the shoulders of the 4x champion. Iguodala does not want to fail and wants to help the players and the league coexist with no trouble. This has unfortunately led to the Warriors legend having some trouble in his personal life.

In a recent episode of the Point Forward podcast, Andre Iguodala shared the troubles that he had to go through when he was initially given the opportunity to have this role. With the new TV deal that is to be made soon, Iguodala is not sure how things will go for him in the future.

This has placed a lot of stress on the 39-year-old. Iguodala wants to add more value based on his role, and this has been driving him for some time now. Iguodala also has other ongoing responsibilities in his life, like his venture capital fund. So with everything on his plate right now, Iguodala may question himself whether he is actually ready to face all these challenges.

Iguodala said, “We are athletes, and we struggle with what we struggle with. But at the end of the day – I’ve had, Imma be honest… Like I’ve had some tough nights where I was like stressed. I’m talking about nightmares. I lost some weight thinking about this, like, Man, can I really do this?”

Iguodala knows that when he is in this position, the people that he is meeting with are some of the smartest people in the world. So he wants to always be prepared and be his best self. He has to constantly remind himself that he is in that position because people around him consider him one of the smartest, and people who know him believe in him. Iguodala said, “You gotta build yourself up to survive.

With everything coming at him in such a short time, it can get overwhelming. But Iguodala is doing the best that he can. Apart from this new role, he has recently made major moves with his VC fund as well.

Iguodala’s $200 million fund

Andre Iguodala made one of his biggest moves and invested $9.2 million in AllCity Network as part of his VC Mosaic. He has always had a great mind and could see things play out before other people. This was one of the reasons why he was an early investor in Zoom and Cloudflare.

Through his VC, he has also invested in businesses like Vessel and Athletics First. Iguodala always wants to invest in people that he knows can make a change in the community. With his role in the NBA, he is looking to add value and be helpful to the league and the players.
