Having Followed in Stephen Curry’s Footsteps, NCAA Star Cameron Brink Steals NBA Legend’s Thunder at Seattle

The NCAA star Cameron Brink is on the rise. Her agility on the basketball court is getting significant recognition from fans and professionals. Cameron Brink is on the path to incredible success. But she is not alone. Her journey is backed by the experience and wisdom of this 4x NBA champion—Stephen Curry.

That’s right. Brink is all set to follow in the footsteps of her godbrother, Stephen Curry. And her remarkable performance at the second annual Champions of Change All-star game is a testament to that.

Cameron Brink outshined all at the All-star game

The Champions of Change (CoC) kicked off summer with an All-star basketball game. CoC partners with local organizations to raise money for underserved communities. This year, CoC hosted a basketball game at the Climate Pledge Arena, featuring NBA legends like Jamal Crawford and Isaiah Thomas. However, Cameron Brink’s stellar performance overshadowed these NBA legends.

The game was packed with action as the teams hit back-to-back baskets. Stanford Cardinal’s Cameron Brink took multiple jump shots during the first two quarters. Thanks to Brink, Payton/Bird’s team (the team in black jerseys) had a two-point lead in the second quarter. They managed to maintain this lead till the end of the third quarter. With a 60-57, Brink was leading the team to an inevitable victory.

However, Jamal Crawford, playing for the team in white, gears up a good defense in the last quarter. The spectators get to witness some of Crawford’s “nothing-but-net” moves. As a result, the game goes into overtime, leaving both teams with an equal 82. Crawford’s team wins, as he scores a three-pointer in overtime. Despite the loss, Brink’s performance was applaudable.

Is Stephen Curry related to Cameron Brink?

Brink’s game on the court was heavily influenced by NBA legend Stephen Curry. Brink and Curry have a bond of friendship that goes way back. The athletes’ mothers, named Sonya Curry and Shelly Brink, were roommates in college and have been friends since then. They were so close that Sonya Curry was chosen to be Brink’s godmother.

As a consequence, Stephen Curry becomes a godbrother to Brink. Curry and Brink aren’t related by blood. However, their passion for basketball fuels their friendship. And we are sure that Brink has a lot to learn from this Golden State Warriors point guard.
