The Warriors have a lot of players who have arrived just this season or in the previous one. Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, and Damion Lee are the only players who have played for two seasons or more. So team will need time to get in sync with each other and build chemistry.

Coach Steve Kerr admitted that there have been a few struggles during their scrimmage games. He said“A lot of turnovers, a lot of poor transition defense where we’re giving up layups behind the play. Then offensively, we have so many new guys throwing together that it’s going to take time to blend.”

How far can Golden State Warriors go with this team?

Prior to Thompson’s injury, the Warriors were expected to return to contending. But after that unfortunate incident, these predictions have changed.

The Warriors have brought in Kelly Oubre Jr, who is a replacement for Thompson. He is coming off a career year with the Suns, averaging 18.7 points per game. He has also established himself as one of the better 3&D players in the league. Oubre might not be on the same talent level as Thompson and is not a like for like replacement, but the Warriors will definitely benefit from having him on the team.

Alongside Oubre, they have a promising rookie in James Wiseman, who has the potential to be an elite rim protector. They have Andrew Wiggins, the former #1 overall pick, who has looked impressive since he joined them last season. Draymond might have regressed, but he can still be a quality defender, and also create chances.

Finally, they have their two-time MVP Curry, who is one of the best players in the league. With him on the team, the Warriors are bound to make the playoffs, and one can expect them to finish anywhere from the 4th to the 7th seed. But one cannot be surprised if they outdo expectations and have a deep playoff run too.
