The Golden State Warriors defeated the Denver Nuggets tonight. It was a great team effort as the Warriors bounced back from their previous loss against the Wizards. The main factor behind their win tonight was the return to form for Stephen Curry.
Despite a slow start with zero points in the first quarter, Curry picked up the pace later and had another 30 point game. As usual, it was a highlight reel game from him. He also looked very heated tonight, after the Nuggets players got away with multiple fouls on him.
Late in the fourth quarter, Curry executed a step back three perfectly, and was also fouled on the play by Facundo Campazzo. As he lay flat on the ground, Curry thumped his chest in anger and celebration. He stared down Campazzo as he got up before celebrating with his teammates.

Campazzo had been defending Curry all night, unsuccessfully. His physical defense didn’t amuse Curry who made it a point to cook the Nuggets player on every play possible.
There is very little one can do to guard Curry, and Campazzo was trying his best. Despite that, Curry had 32 points while shooting 11-18 from the field.
Can Stephen Curry help the Warriors to sneak into the playoffs?
Tonight’s win was the Warriors‘ seventh win in 10 games. They had a couple of losses to the Wizards during this run and also a close loss against the Celtics.
But in their other games, Curry has gone ballistic while leading them to wins. This was their second win over the Nuggets in this run, which also includes wins over the 76ers and the Bucks.

Any other team wouldn’t stand much of a chance by being a ninth or tenth seeded play-in team. But the Warriors don’t care because they have Curry.
A ninth or tenth seed team would have to win two consecutive games to qualify for the playoffs. If Curry has two crazy performances in those games, that will be enough to send the Warriors to the playoffs.
The Warriors will be keen to avoid the lottery for the second season in a row, as they slowly return to their best.
