Minnesota Timberwolves forward Robert Covington seems hugely in demand among the NBA teams.
The Athletic reported that Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers are among the teams looking to sign the 29-year old.
After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, Covington impressed in the G league and played four seasons for Philadelphia 76ers. He moved to the Timberwolves prior to the 2018-19 season as a part of Jimmy Butler trade deal.

Over the two seasons with the Sixers, Covington has averaged 13.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game.
With the Wolves quite a distance away from a playoff spot, other teams in contention might look to get Covington’s services. The report from Athletic suggests that many teams are looking for his signature and the Timberwolves are expected to drive a hard bargain.

In 39 games this season, Covington is averaging 12.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 35.5 percent from three-pointers and 79.3 percent from the free-throw line.
A team like Dallas would welcome Covington for some defensive stability and supporting the likes of Luka Doncic in offence. Doncic has been leading the Mavericks in his sophomore season, almost singlehandedly sometimes. A player like Covington will support Doncic and co, and will also make rotation and load management easier for Rick Carlisle.

Multiple sources indicate that Robert Covington may be the most currently asked about player in the entire NBA. Good player, easy to fit in anywhere, very tradable contract. I know multiple teams have tried to engage the Wolves in Covington trade talks. https://t.co/AHtKLRWcSw
