Dan and Bobby Hurley have made their mark in basketball through their illustrious careers. They have forged their names and have become iconic figures in the world of basketball. But now the brothers are fighting out as rivals on court.

The Hurley brothers have successfully carried on their Irish-American basketball legacy forward. Both have been successful in creating their own identities because of their deep passion for the game. Bobby Hurley started his college basketball career as a point guard for the Blue Devils. He flourished under the guidance of legendary Coach K from from 1989 to 1993. Bobby won back-to-back NCAA championships with Duke in 1991 and 1992. Moreover, he was adjudged the Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four of his 1992 season. In addition to this, he also has the NCAA record(1076) for most assists to his name.

Bobby Hurley made his return to college basketball in 2010 as an assistant coach with his brother Dan at Wagner College. Following this, they both joined Rhode Island in 2012. Bob went on his separate way in 2013 when he was asked to represent the Buffalo Bulls as their head coach. He led the Bulls to win the Mid-American Conference regular and tournament in 2015. In addition to this, Bobby also won the MAC East Division in 2014 and 2015. At this time, he made a move to Arizona State in 2015 and became their head coach and has been a significant part of their success. Furthermore, he has led the Sun Devils to the 2023 NCAA Tournament for the third time.

Similarly, younger brother Dan has carved his own path in the world of college basketball.

Dan Hurley began his career playing as a point guard for Seton Hall from 1991-96. However, he ended his professional career and joined St. Anthony HS as an assistant coach in 1996. Dan made valuable contributions and brought success to colleges like Wagner and Rhode Island. Consequently, it was in 2018 that he took a giant leap and headed towards UConn. He led the Huskies to win the A-10 Regular Season in 2018. As a result, he won the A-10 Coach of the Year. Eventually, Dan’s breakthrough year came in 2023 when the Huskies reached NCAA Division I Regional Final Four and then became NCAA champions for the fifth time.

The brotherly duo of Dan and Bobby Hurley has cherished the fans with many memorable moments throughout their career. Furthermore, both have excelled in their respective fields to keep their family legacy alive. As a result, basketball fans of every generation are admirers of these two legendary brothers.
