After LSU won the title, star player Angel Reese was all over social media for her actions during the title game. As the team cruised towards the win, Reese was seen talking trash with opponent star Caitlin Clark. The guard received major backlash on social media following her suggestive gesture. However, LSU alumnus Shaquille O’Neal defended her and called out some of her critics, while addressing her boyfriend situation.

Sports commentator Keith Olbermann had some harsh words for Reese on social media. He wrote, “What a f***ing idiot”, condemning her move during the game. Shaq did not take it kindly. The Big Diesel replied, “shut your dumb a** up leave angel reese alone.”

Shaquille O’Neal on defending the young star

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal recently shared the reason behind his reaction on social media. Notably, the response to Keith Olbermann’s comment was not O’Neal’s only reply. The four-time NBA champion noted that he does not mind people having an opinion. However, he stated that he was not happy with Olbermann’s remarks about Angel Reese.

The Big Diesel added that he usually does not engage in a war of words on social media, but he could not fathom why the commentator would make such a remark about a young woman. The Los Angeles Lakers legend suggested that every athlete talks trash or does something similar when they win.

As per a recent report, Shaq said, “She played her butt off. So when you play like that, you should be able to do what you want. She’s a college student, she’s passing her classes. You ain’t got no drug arrest, you ain’t got no DUIs, you ain’t got no boyfriend problems. So leave that girl alone.”
