Ever since quarterback Russell Wilson joined the Steelers earlier this year, the world has wanted to see how Mike Tomlin would use the athlete. While the team might have been prepping for the new season for the past 9 months, the 35-year-old just joined them back in March. Now, it looks like his 3-year-old son with Ciara, Win, has joined in on the fun.

In a story on Instagram, Wilson shared a clip of his youngest, Win, hyping his dad up for his upcoming NFL season. The video showed the 3-year-old standing in the corridor of the family’s house chanting, “Let’s go, Russell Wilson, let’s go, Russell Wilson.” The little guy proved to be his dad’s biggest cheerleader, with his catchy cheer and clapping along.

The 35-year-old captioned the clip, “Win getting ready for the season.” However, the quarterback also let his humor rub off on it with, “It’s “Daddy” to you lil man.” While the 3-year-old was gearing up to support Wilson, the former Broncos star had to keep up his daddy duties and head out for his stepson, Future’s little league game. After all, the athlete had once even called his blended family a gift.

Wilson may be enjoying a little time to himself ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl season. However, there has still been a lot going on behind the scenes at the Steelers’ practice.

Russell Wilson’s position in the Steelers might be threatened

When Russell Wilson joined the Pittsburgh Steelers last month, he was not the only new addition to the team. In fact, just shortly after his signing, Mike Tomlin was blessed with another quarterback, Justin Fields. He had been traded from the Bears for a conditional sixth-round pick in the NFL draft this year. Although snagging the 35-year-old might have seemed like a good option at the time, the head coach recently revealed that the 25-year-old could compete for the lead position.

According to reports from ESPN, Tomlin stated, “Russell is in pole position. His collective body of work merits that. But we’re really excited to have Justin as well.” That was when the 52-year-old added, “During the course of team development, training camp, and preseason he’ll be given the opportunity to compete.” With two talented players in their arsenal, it will be interesting to see how the coach figures this one out.

So far, his approach seems like the best way to go before he decides who will be the Steelers’ main quarterback. Although Wilson might have the stats to back up why he deserves it, Fields could be the answer to all the team’s problems. However, with the Steelers declining to pick up the QB’s $25 million fifth-year option, they might be leaning toward the 35-year-old.

While Pittsburgh may want Wilson, they signed him only for a one-year deal with a minimum salary. So there is no telling what could happen when his contract ends next year.
