Deshaun Watson Suffers Season-Ending Shoulder Injury. When Is He Expected to Make a Comeback?

As the football season enters its 2nd half, the injuries are plaguing almost all the teams. But the Cleveland Browns must deal with a horrific injury of their own. QB Deshaun Watson has injured his right shoulder and will miss the entire season!

The 28-year-old starting QB for the Browns has been monumental for them this season. But now as each game gets ever more important, they will have to make do without their superstar QB. This heartbreaking news just before the divisional clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers, is not something any Browns fan would’ve wanted. But this is the reality.

Deshaun Watson is out for the season

Watson’s season though sometimes has been unpredictable, he has led from the front. The QB has thrown for 1,115 yards with 7 TDs and 5 interceptions. But his season finished in the first quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. He is scheduled for surgery soon for his displaced shoulder fracture.

Sports injuries experts claim that this type of injury and the surgery require around 5-6 months of rehabilitation. Though its case-to-case basis, fans should expect Watson in the next season only. Backup QB P.J Walker has played bits and part role throughout the season but must take up the mantle now.

As the Browns prepare to take on their divisional rivals the Steelers, who themselves are also dealing with injuries. The whole squad must come together to keep the playoff dreams alive.

A playoff battle ensues for the Browns

Both the Browns and the Steelers are 6-3 this season, behind the Ravens (7-3) who lead the AFC North table. These teams already met earlier in this season. The week 2 game was won by the Steelers 26-22.

The Browns are looking to avenge their loss to the Steelers and extend their winning streak to three games. This will be a home game for the Browns with their fans roaring, maybe the lack of Watson would be made up.

This game has playoff aspirations. The winner will have an easy road toward the playoff season, while the loser will have their best shot through the wild card.
