Jason Kelce over his 12-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles has seen and done it all. However, the former center for the Eagles was taken aback when he got to know the details of his former teammate’s contract extension. Jake Elliott was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL 2017 Draft. However, he did not play for the Bengals and was traded to the Eagles the same year. Elliott has turned into one of the placekickers in the game. And his massive contract extension is the talk of the town.

Jason Kelce couldn’t believe the dollar amount

After serving 7 years with the Eagles, the franchise offered him a groundbreaking extension! Elliott has signed a 4-year contract worth $24 million, with an average salary of $6 million per year. The brothers Travis and Jason Kelce couldn’t stop celebrating on their podcast ‘New Heights’ upon hearing the news.

Even though Jason was excited for Elliott he exclaimed, “Holy Cow… I didn’t know kickers even made that much money”. However, Jason could not disagree with the fact that Elliott deserved the pay rise.

“He’s worth every penny”, said Jason justifying the price tag the Eagles have put on their loyal PK. And Jason had evidence to back up the claim as well. “Especially if you look at the kicks he made in clutch situations last year”, said Jason. And Elliott must be over the moon as well, as this contract extension puts him right at the top.

The Eagles have locked down the 29-year-old Elliott till 2028 with this extension. This is valuable considering Elliott had the best season of his career in 2023. The Super Bowl winner connected with an astounding 93.8% of his kicks last season. He also made the longest goal in his career last season!

This new contract ties him with the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker for the highest-paid kicker in NFL history. Elliott’s yearly salary has doubled with this extension, as he previously made $3.45 million per year. The holder for the longest kick in NFL history by a rookie (61 yards) has been improving with each game. And the Eagles have put their faith in him to take the team over the hurdles.
