But Chiefs’ Travis Kelce‘s inclusion on the list is an interesting one. Especially given the TE is having arguably the least productive season of his career, and there are multiple TEs in the league with better numbers than Kelce, such as the Lions rookie Sam LaPorta. The decision to include him is sure to create some noise over time.

LaPorta has scored 9 touchdowns in his rookie season already, breaking the previous franchise record of 8 TDs by a TE by Jim Gibbons, which stood for 59 yards. Additionally, he has also received 82 catches in the regular season itself, breaking Keith Jackson’s 35-year-old rookie record.
In comparison, Kelce stands 29th in the league for total receiving yards (984 yards) and 16th in terms of touchdowns (5). Both are among his worst since he started with the Chiefs in 2014, and doesn’t justify the player who won the Super Bowl last time being the league’s 3rd best receiver and the best TE.
