The Packers–Cowboys showdown might just be the game circled on every fan’s calendar this season. And really, how could it not be? After the soap opera between Jerry Jones and Micah Parsons, this is the matchup. Micah’s out for revenge after Jerry painted him as the villain, and Jerry’s desperate to show the world his team doesn’t need the league’s scariest pass rusher to look like contenders. Here are five predictions from this matchup.

1) The Cowboys’ pass rush will cost them
After Micah’s departure, we all knew that the pass rush would struggle. But we didn’t know that it would be the worst in the league. Their defensive line has been a sieve when it comes to pressuring the quarterback. So bad, in fact, that three of their defensive ends (Donovan Ezeiruaku, James Houston, and Marshawn Kneeland) posted a 0% win rate in pass rushing against the Bears. Yep, zero. This won’t do against the Packers.

2) Dak Prescott will have a below-average night
Now, this is a bit gutsy. But it makes sense. Dak‘s been pretty good this season: 800 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 3 INTs (QBR 58.8) through three games. But he might not be able to follow this pattern vs the Packers. The Packers’ defense has been quietly impressive against the pass this season. They’ve kept Jared Goff, Jayden Daniels, and Joe Flacco firmly in check, allowing just 504 passing yards through three weeks. That’s an average of 168 yards per game. Seventh best in the league.

Add in the fact that he’ll be missing his top target in CeeDee Lamb for a week or two, and you might be looking at a mediocre Dak performance.
3) Kenny Clark to step up in a big way for Dallas
Yes, the pass rush has been astronomically bad. And that won’t change. But Kenny Clark would have a solid game. The Cowboys’ defense has struggled mightily this season, giving up 92 points in 3 weeks—the fifth worst in the league. But Clark would be that bright spot in a rather doomed backline. He’s not too far off Micah’s 1.5 sacks this season (one). He’s spent nine years with the Packers, so he knows that offense.
4) Micah Parsons will record more than one sack
Dak Prescott has already been sacked five times so far this season. And the Cowboys’ pass-protection issues and the offense playing without its top receiver (CeeDee Lamb) make Dak a richer target for Parsons’ edge rush.

And Micah? He’s tied for the league lead with 14 quarterback pressures so far. Put Micah’s motivation to face his former team in the mix, and a couple of sacks are a safe bet.

5) Jordan Love will have a near-perfect game
Yes, Love had a rather…horrid game against the Browns. Even that interception that turned the game around. But that was the only interception he’s thrown so far this season. He’s thrown for 663, five touchdowns, and just that one pick against Cleveland. Factor in the Cowboys‘ week pass rush, and you’re looking at what could be a Jordan Love masterclass.
