After punishing the Cleveland Browns 41-17 at their home, the Baltimore Ravens looked promising, but only until they met the Detroit Lions. The 30-38 loss against the Detroit Lions appeared to be the Ravens taking a step forward and 10 steps back, as they currently sit at 1-3. What made the match a nightmare for the Ravens? It was their porous defense.

After a humbling loss against the Lions, the Ravens’ average yards per game allowed has reached up to 411.6. This is the worst average yards per game allowed for this season. Also, the team missed 20 tackles against the Lions and allowed TD drives of 96 and 98 yards. Well, all of these defensive loopholes must be patched before heading to Arrowhead against the Kansas City Chiefs. But this time it’s not only the team that Ravens should worry about.

Heading into week 4 of the season, Lamar Jackson will be looking forward to changing Ravens’ history at Arrowhead. What’s the history? Ever since 2008, the Baltimore Ravens have allowed an average of 29 points per game at Arrowhead. However, this is not all, as more statistics stand against the Ravens this Monday.

Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs are led by Patrick Mahomes and the match is in Arrowhead, the Ravens have failed to conquer the gridiron. The last time the Ravens defeated the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium was back in 2012 in a 9-6 game. But it was neither Lamar Jackson leading the Ravens nor Mahomes leading the Chiefs. Even if we leave the Arrowhead aspect, Lamar Jackson has a 1-4 record against the Chiefs. And the record of the Ravens vs. Chiefs is 4-8. Looks like all the odds are against the Lamar Jackson-led Ravens.

But this time, Lamar Jackson will be looking to change the Ravens’ history and stats not only at Arrowhead but also against the Chiefs overall. However, things will not be easy for Jackson and his team as the Chiefs are coming off a strong victory. The Chiefs might be sitting at 1-2, but they will be looking forward to carrying the positives from their last victory against the New York Giants. What will be more challenging for Lamar Jackson? It will be the Chiefs’ record at the stadium. Since 2021, the Chiefs are 27-8 at Arrowhead, which translates to a 77% winning rate.

With all these challenges ahead and the determination to change Ravens’ dark past at Arrowhead, Lamar Jackson will have to bounce back. However, the entire responsibility doesn’t lie solely with Lamar Jackson, as other players will also need to rectify these mistakes, especially Derrick Henry

Lamar Jackson’s teammates’ consecutive mistakes paint a concerning picture

Running back Derrick Henry was seen hitting his helmet after he made another costly fumble in the fourth quarter. When the Ravens were trailing at 28-24 in the fourth quarter, Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson punched the ball out from behind Henry at the Ravens’ 16-yard line. The Lions then took advantage of this turnover and turned it into a field goal.

This is Henry’s third fumble in three games and second fumble in the fourth quarter in the NFL 2025 season. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg. In his last nine seasons, he had lost two fourth-quarter fumbles in 136 games. Although Henry has apologized to his teammates, he will have to take this issue seriously. Especially when Lamar Jackson has his eyes set on a new chapter of Ravens’ history.

“It’s just crazy, three fumbles straight. I’m trying every day to fix the problem that just keeps occurring. I’m my worst critic, so I’m not going to try to beat myself up too much,” Henry said, addressing his fumble issue. If the Ravens are to change the course of history, these mistakes must be rectified, and the defense must find solutions to its current problems before heading into Arrowhead.
