This Super Bowl hero is accused of leaking information! Last March, the Jets signed receiver Mecole Hardman as a free agent, but he disappointed with just one catch in five games. He also lost the punt-returner job to rookie Xavier Gipson and was eventually traded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Now, being with the Chiefs, he is accused of leaking the Jets’ game plans to the Philadelphia Eagles and his team. In response, Jets’ cornerback Sauce Gardner brought attention to a 2013 tweet of Hardman with a subtle response to the alleged accusations.

Gardner’s humorous response to Hardman’s willingness to speak up if someone’s life was on the line got fans in a frenzy, as they joined the New York Jets CB in playfully calling the wide receiver a “fraud.” According to Bleacher Report, this speculation “comes after Connor Hughes of SNY reported ‘there was validated belief from the Jets’ that Hardman leaked the gameplans to those two opponents as he was frustrated by his lack of usage.”

Hardman shared that his frustration with limited playing time reached a point where, by Week 4, during a home game against the Chiefs, he was mentally disengaged, having already communicated with Chiefs GM Brett Vreach and Patrick Mahomes, expressing his desire to be traded back to the Chiefs.
Two weeks later, the wide receiver’s wish was fulfilled; ultimately, he caught the winning touchdown pass in Super Bowl LVIII.
