However, the amount for this year’s Super Bowl stood at a staggering number of 123.4 million average viewers, making it the most-watched telecast in history. Many claim that the surge in the ratings could potentially be the case, after the heavy involvement of the global star Taylor Swift in the game.

The previous Super Bowl set a record with 115 million U.S. viewers, establishing itself in the list of the most-watched show in U.S. history previously. As per the NFL, there was a 7% increase in the viewership of the Tournament finale this year in comparison to the previous year. The numbers pouring in from the league display that almost more than 200 million viewers (around 202.4) watched the full or at least parts of the Super Bowl 58 game.

This officially indicates the match hosting the highest total audience in history, which is almost a 10% increase since the previous year’s record of 183.6 million. Over the past six Super Bowls, five have secured spots within the top 25 most-watched television programs. Historically, with the latest update, 13 Super Bowls have achieved viewership surpassing 100 million.

Entering the Top 25 now demands over 92 million viewers, a milestone increasingly challenging for television. Looking ahead, it’s highly likely that more Super Bowls will potentially join this prestigious list over time. American football remains one of the few events capable of attracting such massive audiences in today’s television world. Even prior to this, NFL viewerships have broken various records in the world of broadcasting and streaming.
