Neither John Legend nor Maxwell, Shannon Sharpe Reveals His All-Time Favorite Artist

NFL fans are well acquainted with the name Shannon Sharpe. Having played NFL for fourteen long years, Sharpe is regarded as one of the greatest tight ends of all time. He has been at the top of his game for a long time now. Sharpe has played for two of the most well-known teams, that being the Denver Broncos from 1990 to 1999, and subsequently shifting to the Baltimore Ravens from 2000 to 2001. The NFL juggernaut has had his share of all things sports.

But retirement is something all the sports personalities have to go through. Sharpe, however, has always made sure to be in the news almost every day. Post his retirement, Shannon Sharpe decided to accept a position with CBS Sports as an NFL commentator. Since then, the NFL legend has been in the limelight. Recently, Sharpe has shared some of his preferences in music and what he likes to listen. With all the popularity, Sharpe’s preferences are something all fans would love to listen.

It aims to have conversations about the most recent news in sports, pop culture, and everything in between with athletes, celebrities, and influencers each week. Recently, the host welcomed Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson on his podcast.

Upon conversing, Sharpe revealed his favorite artist of all time. “I believe it was in 2006. This was the greatest song to this day. It is still one of my favorite songs of all time.” Revealing the big name, he said, “Meshell Ndegeocello, she is my favorite.” Further in the conversation, Sharpe also mentioned some other artists.“Love Maxwell, love John Legend. But Meshell Ndegeocello is my favorite artist of all time.”

In this episode called, “Nightcap” Sharpe also stated that “very few people know it” referring to his favorite artist. But this isn’t your first time Sharpe has revealed something about himself.

Sharpe claims he is unaware of Selena Gomez’s identity.

At an event they both attended, singer Selena Gomez and Shannon Sharpe had a brief run-in. The paparazzi had stopped Sharpe for a quick interview. As Shannon was responding, the interviewer panned the camera away in an attempt to capture images of the popstar exiting the event.

Talking on the podcast about the moment, Sharpe said, “I don’t really know what she does.” Sharpe was asked to list some of Gomez’s songs after his co-host, Chad, expressed disbelief at the remark. Sharpe stated, “I barely could name her,” having no knowledge of the singer’s songs.

As the news went viral, various fans expressed how they felt about the encounter. That being said, this is definitely not the only time Sharpe has been in the news. With a personality like his, the three-time Superbowl champion is always making the headlines.
