Nervous Tua Tagovailoa Admits He Never Initially Laughed at Coach Mike McDaniel’s Hilarious Jokes

Tua Tagovailoa is turning all strides with his back-to-back match-winning performances. He is giving tough competition to the current reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes. With 14 touchdowns in just six games, he is nearing fast to 2000 yards. Tua Tagovailoa is staying far ahead of the competition from other QBs in the league and the stats do vouch for the same.

However, the journey hasn’t been a piece of cake for the rising football star. In fact, in a recent interview, Tagovailoa shared insight into how he acted around HC Mike McDaniel when he first entered the squad. It truly reflected a story of support, encouragement, and resilience.

While Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniel are looking like a dream pair now, it was not how the story started. A social media page on X named ‘King of Phinland’ shared a clip from Tua Tagovailoa’s recent interview. In the shared clip, Tua opens up about his relationship with the Dolphin’s head coach Mike McDaniel.

In a very modest way, Tagovailoa went on to admit his shy nature when McDaniel started coaching the Dolphins. The superstar went on to say, “I would not even laugh at his (Mike’s) jokes in team meetings, I was so nervous” evidently pointing out and relating this to his previous work environments.

However, before this statement, the 25-year-old footballer admitted how the head coach provided him with a setting that allowed him to be himself. As Tagovailoa revealed how he didn’t even laugh at Mike McDaniel’s jokes, he reasoned it by saying how it was because he was tense all the time.

This characteristic of the footballer couldn’t help but draw out a comment from the Twitter account with a heartbreak emoji. It said, “That breaks my heart.” Many fans and NFL enthusiasts will probably relate to this sentiment in the account. However, as the star athlete felt the need to prove himself, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to say that he has left a strong mark in the NFL town. His caliber will be tested even more than before as he will come face to face with the Eagles in their next clash.

The game between the two behemoths will start soon. The Eagles have got the dream start to their season by securing five wins on the trot, suffering a lone setback in their last game against the Jets 20-14. He has scored three touchdowns in two games and four touchdowns in the record-breaking win against the Denver Broncos 70-20 in the third week’s game. And with Mike McDaniel by his side, the Dolphins also look quite strong.
