This much-anticipated event has been sold out for weeks and seems like a true way to respect Brady’s 20-year legacy with the Patriots. In a rare move, the usual four-year waiting period for Hall of Fame induction was waived for the GOAT. Further, to kick things off right, the team also released a heart-warming tribute video narrated by John Cena, setting the stage for an emotional night.

Now, as time goes on, the excitement just keeps building! Patriots owner Robert Kraft promised “a full stadium full to honor” Brady, and he wasn’t kidding. Current Patriots stars are lining up to pay their respects. Mark Daniels reports on his X handle that “the entire Patriots rookie class is here at the Tom Brady ceremony. That includes Drake Maye.”

But it’s not just these rising stars. Over 100 of Brady’s former teammates, like Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, are here to celebrate their friend as well. These veterans and rookies are here not just to witness this momentous occasion, but to pay tribute to the legend who built the dynasty they’re now a part of.

Now, amidst the celebration, a heavy burden of expectation also rests on the rookies’ shoulders, especially for young QBs like Drake Maye. However, Brady is also taking some time to ease the burden for them.

Drake Maye ‘soaks up’ wisdom from Tom Brady

A bittersweet feeling hangs over New England now. After Tom Brady’s departure, the Patriots’ winning ways seemed to vanish too. Mac Jones was drafted to fill the void, couldn’t quite capture the magic, and landed with the Jaguars this year. Now, the torch is passed to rookie quarterback Drake Maye, the team’s 3rd overall draft pick.

Hope soared when fans spotted Maye brunching with Brady shortly after the draft. The GOAT, participating in a Fanatics rookie meet-up, shared invaluable advice and life lessons with the young players. Maye, however, knows the pressure. “I’m not going to be Tom Brady,” he declared, “but I’m excited to learn from him.” He sounded eager to soak up the knowledge from him, and not become a clone.

While the Patriots can’t dwell on past glories, Maye’s confidence seems infectious. Now, the future in Foxborough feels a little brighter.
