Beyond just leading a Cowboys dynasty and winning Super Bowls for fun, Troy Aikman is more than a leader on the field. Having retired 25 years ago, Aikman has since made a name for himself in the sports broadcasting world. After serving as the color commentator of the NFL on FOX for 20 years, Aikman switched to ESPN. Well, once he made the jump to Monday Night Football, Aikman didn’t come alone. He also brought Joe Buck with him to continue their longest tenured announcer pairing in NFL history. So, you wouldn’t have to be an expert to understand how close Aikman and Buck are indeed. Maybe that’s why Aikman chose to pair with his most trusted ally to lead a business empire that the Cowboys’ legendary QB founded.

Almost 3 years ago, Aikman laid the foundation of EIGHT Elite Light Lager Beer. Inspired by his old jersey number eight, Aikman’s beer brand aims to revolutionize light beer. EIGHT is strictly brewed with organic grains with no added fillers or sugar. This helps EIGHT to offer its exceptional taste and satisfaction within 90 calories. Aikman proudly claims his brand is not another celebrity-driven alcohol brand. Instead, it’s focused more on offering a memorable flavor that can only be found in EIGHT.

“I don’t view this as a celebrity brand. I view it as a great alternative to what’s in the marketplace,” Aikman once said. So as to ensure his beer brand continues to climb the market. Troy called upon his partner, Joe Buck, in hopes of solidifying his brand’s position. Aikman’s latest Instagram post captured some behind-the-scenes moments from what appeared to be commercials for his brand. He and Buck apparently shot their first EIGHT beer commercial to ensure the brand reaches more customers.

So, with Eight taking a new direction to capture more attention in the beer market, Aikman’s daughter couldn’t be prouder of her dad’s effort. She chimed in with her honest reaction to Aikman’s post, commenting, Cheers to it.” To be honest, Aikman’s light beer brand needed this approach way earlier. Given EIGHT has expanded beyond its comfort zone, Texas, Aikman’s light beer commercial can give them an edge over existing players.

Troy Aikman’s EIGHT moves beyond Texas

When Aikman launched his beer brand in 2022, it was limited only to Texas. But after seeing it thrive in the state where he made his name, Aikman chose to expand. “I’m proud to bring EIGHT to Oklahoma—this is light beer made right,” Aikman said last year. His EIGHT is now available in Texas’ neighboring state. This move was made in hopes of emulating the same amount of success Austin brought to his brand. However, Oklahoma is just the beginning of the massive expansion plans EIGHT has in store.

We’re being strategic about growth, and that involves building relationships with customers as we expand. We’re working with some great distributors and retail partners, and we are excited to see where this expansion takes us,” Aikman added. Considering his brand is now foraying into commercials, it’s safe to say the growth is positive. And it’s only the start of things EIGHT has in store for the future.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Troy Aikman's EIGHT beer conquer the national market like he did with the Cowboys?

Have an interesting take?

“This is a big move for EIGHT, and the result of the hard work and relentless effort of our entire team. Our plans for growth don’t end in Oklahoma, but we’re excited to take this first step here,” CEO & co-founder of EIGHT, Ruchi Desai, said. Aikman has always stood for having the grit and determination to stand for what he believes. Whether it’s his three iconic Super Bowl victories or his unbiased takes as an announcer. Aikman’s latest move to solidify his brand’s status might hand him another major victory. But this time, it will be more special, considering that his best friend Joe Buck was in it, too.
