While every edition of the Match has been for charity, Mahomes will be partnering up with an organization to make the charity an even bigger success than before. He is also making it an interesting version as this turns out to become the first version of the Match with NFL players pitted against NBA players.

The unique version of the Match with Patrick Mahomes and its benefits

Mahomes and Kelce are set to face off against the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson in a brilliant edition of the Match. The Match as a whole is meant to be a charity exhibition event and this time, Mahomes has partnered up with the organization, Whatnot, to make the Match a better event in terms of how much charity it will raise. As per Heavy, Whatnot is going to engage in a high-stakes hole-in-one challenge wherein Mahomes will have a 25-shots to make a hole-in-one. Additionally, Whatnot is also going to be rewarding people with prizes.

They have also pledged to donate to Mahomes’ foundation for every shot he takes. Interestingly, this also includes a whopping $1 million contribution towards the foundation for the hole-in-one challenge. Moreover, this is not the first time the Match has made a huge amount of money for various causes.

Previous Match earnings and its contribution

The Match has always been an event for the purpose of charity. Whether it has involved multiple NFL players or golf players, every edition of the Match has raised a brilliant amount of money for various causes. The second-ever version of the Match raised about $20 million for COVID-19 relief. During such a tumultuous time, the Match was able to bring about funds for such a great cause. Moreover, the third edition of the Match also raised $4 million for HBCUs. Finally, last year’s edition of the match went on to make at least $1 million for the choice of the players’ charities of choice.
