The hype around Caleb Williams continues to snowball with each passing day as the Draft draws near. He is projected to be the number 1 QB pick at the NFL Draft which is only 39 days away now. The fans are having a field day dissecting a new aspect of the QB, and this time, it’s the fact that Williams will be stepping into the transfer side of the sport without a manager to guide him.

Caleb Williams, the quarterback for the USC Trojans, is an exceptional talent who is rightfully standing at the top of the table. He was the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and while he was on track to win it again in 2023, Williams failed to take it home the second consecutive time after a brutal loss at the hands of Washington by a score of w52-42. Now that he’s preparing to head to the NFL and work his way to the top, he is being compared to Lamar Jackson for not having a manager joined to Williams by the hip.

He said, “Caleb Williams, the greatest NFL prospect since Patrick Mahomes has no agent. This might seem like an issue but when you remember that Lamar Jackson, the reigning defending league MVP also had no agent, and managed to ink a huge contract with the Ravens last off-season, it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal.” While Williams hasn’t stepped foot into the NFL as of yet, former QB for the Rams said that the Trojans’ quarterback is the compilation of Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen with how he plays football at the college level.

Dan Orlovsky’s high praise for Caleb Williams raises a lot of eyebrows

It’s evident that Caleb Williams is one of the best QBs of the upcoming generation. He showcased his talent and skills phenomenally in the 2023 season and has rightly been termed as ‘Patrick Mahomes 2.0’ but without ever stepping foot in the NFL and playing a game, is it right to glorify him as such?

Well according to Dan Orlovsky, he just might be one of the GOATs as he believes Williams is a mix of Mahomes, Jackson, and Allen. He said, “Watching Caleb Williams play is like watching this unique combination of Lamar Jackson, Patrick Mahomes, and Josh Allen on the football field. There’s just some jaw-dropping moments where you go ‘What a unique talent that everything is slow. He plays crazy fast.’ There’s almost no play on the football field that’s not potentially made because his talent is so unique.” Thus, as he awaits his signing day at the NFL Draft in April, Williams can rest assured knowing that the fans and analysts alike have a lot of faith in his capabilities.
