The 5-star offensive lineman recently announced his decision to commit to the Colorado Buffaloes and play under Deion. Now that an allegation against Tennessee Titans has rocked the college football world, Seaton dodged a bullet.

Jordan Seaton was a hot property regarding his transfer to the NCAA. With over 30 schools offering to sign him, he chose Colorado at the end of the day. The youngster’s top 5 teams for a potential transfer included Tennessee, Ohio State, Oregon, and Georgia. Moreover, Colorado was expunged from his initial final list and, as such, his decision to commit to the Buffs came off as a surprise. Now that dark allegations have been made against the Tennessee Titans, it looks like Coach Prime’s influence worked wonders for the OL.

Seaton was in talks to secure a deal with the Titans and was within striking distance of joining the men in blue. In response to Seaton potentially joining the squad, a source was quoted saying, “Tennessee and its NIL collective were feeling good about their chances of landing the final uncommitted five-star recruit in the 2024 class in the days leading up to his decision, and Seaton’s ultimate choice of Colorado came as a surprise.”

Reportedly, Seaton turned down a significant offer with a “seven-figure” price tag. Ironically enough, the Titans have been accused of flouting the rules of the NIL policy by offering a multi-million dollar deal to quarterback Nico Iamaleava. The newly introduced NIL policy essentially deals with the betterment of financial incentives for the players by using their names, images, and likenesses. These allegations have caused a storm of backlash against the team, to which the Titans have also responded by deeming the NCAA “morally wrong.”

The Tennessee Titans fight back against the NCAA after the NIL obstruction allegations come to light

When it comes to the NIL policy, it wasn’t exactly welcomed by the fans with open arms. A majority of the community felt that money would become a greater incentive for the sport rather than the pursuit of actual talent. With all these 20-year-old players being offered sums of millions of dollars, it’s safe to say that a money-hungry mindset could probably take precedence over football.

The Titans aren’t the only ones who will be protesting against the NIL allegations, with Virginia joining hands with them in solidarity. Concerning the allegations against the team, Chancellor Donde Plowman issued a letter that condoned the NCAA thoroughly. An excerpt of the letter said, “Instead, 2 1/2 years of vague and contradictory NCAA memos, emails and ‘guidance’ about name, image, and likeness (NIL) has created extraordinary chaos that student-athletes and institutions are struggling to navigate. In short, the NCAA is failing.” Thus, the battle between the NCAA and Tennessee continues to embolden as the fans engage in a heated debate over right and wrong.
