Deion Sanders, the coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, shares his well wishes for his nephew, who just might be an up-and-coming generational talent. The 56-year-old coach has been known to share a great relationship with everyone around him. Due to his charismatic personality, he’s been able to establish Coach Prime as a household name. More specifically, he is known to have a brotherly-like relationship with Devin Hester ever since he broke Deion’s record.

Devin Hester, the wide receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, broke Deion’s record as the most career return touchdowns. What’s interesting is that Deion was in attendance when this iconic moment was created and even saw Hester imitate his signature run while making the touchdown. After the game, Deion told Hester, “You’re the best ever.” The two share a friendship unlike any other and as such, Deion has nothing but well wishes for Devin’s talented son, Drayton, for his football skills.

On 15th January, Deion took to Instagram to share his prayers for his nephew, Drayton Hester. At such a young age, he has already collected a staggering amount of accolades like Heisman winner 8U FL Elite player. 2023 YNC Champions, and several more. Turns out, Devin and Deion share an amazing brother-like relationship and hence, Drayton is treated as Coach Prime’s nephew.

Deion wrote, “Lord I may offer my nephew! He is his Daddy!” The 9-year-old is already turning heads in the world of football and has his father, Devin Hester’s genes for sure. Devin, the WR for the Atlanta Falcons will hopefully pass the torch to Drayton someday. Further proof of Deion’s love for Devin was seen when Coach Prime was infuriated with the NFL’s decision to snub Devin from the Hall of Fame.

Deion calls the Hall of Famer voters “soft” after they snubbed Devin Hester

According to Sanders, Devin Hester wasn’t given his fair share of credit when he wasn’t voted as the Hall of Famer by the fans. This led to a lot of division within the NFL community, as Hester’s credibility was severely put to the test. Though Hester made it to the HOF semi-finals, he wasn’t able to win it through all the way. In response to this, Deion couldn’t hold back his harsh words as he voiced his frustration.

Deion outrightly said, “We getting soft. How can Devin Hester not be a Hall of Famer? When you think of returns or anything, Devin has it. He’s changed the game. That stuff makes me mad man. Because now there’s hate involved. And hate shouldn’t be involved in this stuff.” Hester’s lifelong contributions to the sport were not recognized by the NFL, but he will sure sleep better at night knowing that Coach Prime will have his and now his son’s back at all times.
