John Darjean might have revealed the best-kept secret of the Sanders’ house. It all dates back to 2015 when Darjean served as the security official at the TripleA Academy. It was a regular day at his job until he sent Shilo Sanders to an in-school suspension for violating the no-phone policy.

A few moments later, he had to be rushed to the hospital for being knocked out. A broken neck, spinal surgery, permanent neurological damages, irreversible incontinence, and a medical bill north of $115,000 were what Darjean walked home with that day. In actuality, Darjean also carried an alleged secret of Deion Sanders, which he revealed after 9 years on ‘Fearless’.

“He didn’t like Pilar at all. That’s what it was all about,” Darjean said, revealing that Deion wasn’t too fond of his new ex-wife and it was supposedly the reason behind Shilo’s aggression that day. When he sent Shilo into suspension, Shilo’s first reaction was to call his mother. When Deion Sanders learned of it through his assistant, he asked Darjean to confiscate Shilo’s phone since he “thought she was crazy.” That was until he realized Deion apparently also restricted Shilo Sanders from living with his mother.

“Shilo wanted to live with his mother. Deion Sanders was like, no ‘I have his custody’. His mom is not allowed to talk to him. She just got out of jail or something,” Darjean revealed. When Prime and Pilar divorced in 2013, the Collin County Court gave Prime the sole custody of their sons Shedeur and Shilo and joint custody of their daughter Shelomi. Since Pilar had visitation rights, she often had her kids.

During one such visit, when the time was up, Pilar Sanders rebelled against giving them back to Prime, claiming that he assaulted them. Pilar lost the case when taken to court and got charged with a $1 million penalty and 7 days in jail for a defamation trial. Almost 9 years later, now their son Shilo Sanders finds himself bankrupt for losing the assault and battery lawsuit against Darjean.

Shilo Sanders announces bankruptcy for the second time

When Darjean took away his phone on Prime’s supposed instructions, Shilo lost his cool. He brutally slammed his elbow into Darjean’s chest, knocking him out. When Darjean sued him, the case went into limbo since Prime allegedly manipulated the evidence.

However, justice has prevailed now. Darjean has won the $11.8 million lawsuit. Since the amount is so massive, Shilo’s finances have taken a bigger hit than his reputation. For the second time in his life, Shilo has filed for bankruptcy. The first time was in 2015 in Dallas because of the same case. With the 2025 NFL draft looming over them, the negative might highly affect Shilo’s draft process and while Darjean’s claims against Coach Prime haven’t been proven, it sure is affecting the whole team.
