No grit, no fame. Is this the issue Deion Sanders‘ children are dealing with? After all, many have talked about Shedeur and how his $4.6 million NIL valuation is partly because of his father. Now Deion Sanders Jr. is at the receiving end of this debate. But doesn’t he generally stay out of the limelight and handle social media presence for the Colorado Buffaloes? Well, yes. But he may have done something that irked fans!

The man behind the camera is no ordinary man. Coach Prime’s firstborn holds a net worth of $5 million. The courtesy of such name and fame goes to his brainchild, Well Off Media. Since Deion Jr. believes that he has been a trailblazer in Sanders’ family’s legacy in sports, his self-confidence seems to have no bounds. Though the intention behind his latest tweet is still unclear, it somewhat hints at his grit-to-glory story. The tweet read, “I can’t dim my light just so you can feel better about yourself… just look the other way.”

This did not sit well with people. The Sanders have already been accused of having arrogance and pride- think about Shedeur’s digs at ex-Colorado player Xander Smith. When the latter opened up about receiving unjustified treatment by Deion Sanders, Shedeur hit back, stating, “Ion [I don’t] even remember him tbh. Bro had to be very mid at best.” Considering Colorado has struggled to perform, many felt this was out of line for the QB.

But coming back to Deion Jr., the last time Bucky caught himself amidst a social media storm, was when he posted a picture of arriving at the jet strip in a Chevrolet SUV. Many social media users perceived this as bragging about his materialistic comforts. However, this time, the attack has been much harsher, bringing accusations of nepotism. And this is something that has stalked the Sanders children for a long time. What did fans have to say about Deion Jr’s latest cryptic tweet? Oh, a lot!

Fans lash out! Was Deion Jr. wrong here?

The caustic attacks came forward with critics trying to bash Deion Jr. for bragging about his father’s wealth. A fan shared their thoughts on how they perceived Bucky’s personality. “Typical narcissist.  For no good reason.  Apple doesn’t fall far….”

The comment tried to draw a parallel between the father and son. Remember how Coach Prime overhauled Colorado’s roster when he joined them? Some people took this as a display of pride and smugness. Further, the HC’s recruitment style was also a point of contention.

Additionally, Cormani McClain’s comment that the Buffaloes play for clicks also made an entry in Deion Jr.’s attack. The ex-Colorado player’s exit from Boulder created a lot of noise because of the digs he took at Coach Sanders. “I feel like I just don’t want to play for clicks,” he stated in one of his YouTube videos. He was referring to the constant headlines that Colorado made it to because of Coach Prime’s statements. A fan backtracked to that and commented, “Not sure what that means, but I bet it has something to do with clicks.”

Another critique questioned his actions, “Shid mf crazy.” “Dude you’re a disappointment to your father’s name. Without your daddy, you’d be an insurance salesman,” a fan suggested. However, how true is it? While such comments routinely appear, many consider Deion Jr. as someone who paved his own way into the world of social media. His work for Colorado Buffaloes pushed them into the limelight. But surely, this wouldn’t have been possible without his father.

On the same line, he is Sanders’ only son who doesn’t play football. While he did play for three years in college, he didn’t advance professionally. The reason could be that Junior has a small stature. He is 5’7” and in the NFL, an average player’s height is above 6 feet.

“You literally a nepo baby,” came a fan’s claim that Deion Jr. lives off his father’s name. Another fan repeated Mike Farrell’s comment on the Sanders family, “seems thin skinned.”

No matter what negative attacks Deion Jr. faces, the responsibility of the content management of something as big as the Colorado Buffaloes program lies on him. While his brothers seem to be reigning the gridiron, Bucky Jr. is the off-field baron of Boulder.
