Having two sons on a team where you’re the head coach doesn’t usually get away without nepotism allegations. After all, what critics usually see in such circumstances is that the father always sides with his sons and gives them greater privilege. And that allegation is especially thrown on Deion Sanders who is known to pride himself in his sons – QB Shedeur Sanders and safety Shilo Sanders.

There is a difference between being proud of your kids and giving them extra favor and privilege over other players. True, Coach Prime may go over the top sometimes to blow the horns of his kids but when it comes to the football field, he is a coach to them just like everyone else. See how he defends himself amidst allegations that he favors his sons over the others.

In a recent Youtube upload by Zero 2 Sixty Podcast on BLEAV NETWORK, Deion Sanders joins Matt McChesney to elaborate on his treatment of his sons in his team. He said, “I’m harder on them than I’m probably on everyone else because I know the expectation. I don’t expect them to be the best but I expect them to give me their best and that’s our deal. That’s been our deal from day one.”

Both Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders thrive in their respective positions on the field. Deion Sanders goes on to add, “The attitude that Shilo brings in a secondary when he’s on the field or off the field… things go crazy. And Shedeur, we know what he’s about when he’s on the field.” The Buffs may have completed the 2023 season with a 4-8 record but both the Sanders kids’ performance was above average. Shilo Sanders recorded 67 tackles (54 solo) and one interception while Shedeur Sanders accounted for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns. And that’s not all, his ‘social media genius’ son also made a revelation that shunned Deion Sanders’ nepotism allegations.

Deion Sanders doesn’t hide his wishes for his kids to climb their ladders as is seen in Bucky’s statement, “It’s difficult working with dad because he demands the greatest. He just wants your family to be proud of you. That’s the goal at the end of the day, so that means everything.” Coach Prime has three great sons who are skilled in what they do. It’s a normal thing for a father to be proud of his sons because of their talents and Deion Sanders is just a guiding light instead of a booster.
