This time Caleb Williams soared to the headlines not for creating any records on the field but for flaunting pink nails and a phone case at the recent game of March Madness. Yes, you read that right. Despite being touted as a generational talent, controversy surrounded the USC quarterback for his personal choices that cast a shadow over his draft prospects. For years, Williams has been hailed as the No.1 pick and so, every move he makes seems to invite scrutiny.
Amidst the backlash, former NFL quarterback, Robert Griffin III voiced his support for Williams. In his plea to accept him for who he is, Griffin III posted a tweet where he wrote, “Let Caleb Williams be Caleb Williams. Ain’t nothing wrong with him wearing pink fingernail polish and having a pink phone case. Quite frankly, if he goes to Chicago then Bears fans should be rocking whatever he is. Stop the hate and accept him for who he is.”
