The reports state, “Michigan has offered Harbaugh a contract that will make him the highest-paid coach in college. They have sweetened the incentives and added….and this is the big part….more protections for him in case the NCAA comes knocking. Michigan and Harbaugh are very close to a deal. But he is still expected to listen to the NFL and “hear them out.” Thus, this is the twist in the tale as the fans have been expecting Harbaugh to finally move to the NFL after years of flirting with the league. Apparently, Harbaugh was within striking distance of signing a deal with the Chargers but is also being tempted by the Wolverines. They claim that they’ll provide extra security to the veteran coach even if the NCAA decides to further the investigation for the sign-stealing scandals.
