In the newest update, Harbaugh’s career situation takes yet another drastic turn. With the NFL conversations getting stronger for the coach, the Michigan Wolverines have offered more incentives for the 60-year-old. The LA Chargers are seemingly the leading candidate to potentially sign Harbaugh, but the talks haven’t yet led to an official confirmation. The Michigan team has released a better offer for him and maybe he just might be convinced to stay back.

The reports state, “Michigan has offered Harbaugh a contract that will make him the highest-paid coach in college. They have sweetened the incentives and added….and this is the big part….more protections for him in case the NCAA comes knocking. Michigan and Harbaugh are very close to a deal. But he is still expected to listen to the NFL and “hear them out.” Thus, this is the twist in the tale as the fans have been expecting Harbaugh to finally move to the NFL after years of flirting with the league. As Michigan and the Chargers engage in a bidding war to keep Harbaugh, the Atlanta Falcons also join the scene of the battle.
