Washington Huskies’ head coach did not just win the reputation of one of the best coaches in the season by winning the Sugar Bowl. He also bagged a lucrative bonus from a semifinal competition win, along with a spot against the No. 1 Michigan Wolverines in the National Championship.
Washington sure faced difficulty in setting the upper hand as both teams stepped into the third quarter with tied scores of 21-21, Although Huskies knew batter than to waste the third quarter as star of the day Michael Phenix Jr. and Grady Gross came to the rescue, adding a solid 10 more points to the score table. The result: Washington being crowned the Sugar Bowl champions.

Sugar Bowl yielded a sweet sweet record for the winning team’s head coach Kalen DeBoer. The winning team gets millions, to put it simply. The coaches are awarded for their efforts as well. DeBoer received a massive $450,000 bonus for a close-call 7 point win in the CFB semifinals against the Longhorns. Steve Berkowitz wrote on his X account “Wasington coach Kalen DeBoer can exhale and he’ll collect $450,000 bonus.”

This season has been profitable, financially and coaching wise, for DeBoer. The Huskies head coach has collected $1.075 million this season as bonuses. But, money will be the least of concerns for Deboer as of now, as they have to gear up for the upcoming National Championship.

The battle of QBs of Washington and Michigan
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has been dreaming of today for a long time. This is his road of redemption against the sign-stealing farce due to which he had to get suspended during the last 3 games of the season. Washington, on the other hand, took great pride in their QB Michael Penix Jr. Jr. displayed an exemplary performance against the Texas, with his 29 successful attempts out of 38, along with his 430 yards and 2 touchdowns. When these two giants will clash in Texas for National Championship, only time will tell who will dominate whom?
