After what happened last season when the Colorado Buffaloes hit rock bottom under Deion Sanders’ first season as HC in Boulder, he’s prepared not to let the same things happen again. Since the beginning of the offseason practice, the 56-year-old has been giving everything for the Buffs from motivating them with his speech to bringing extra hype to the training facility. Now that the spring football practice is on, Coach Prime is over the top with his strong message.
As a prime believer in working hard to get where you want, nothing is holding Deion Sanders back from projecting the harsh reality to his team. He recently unleashed a strong opinion on the Buffs’ complacency, which could be a roadblock to their potential success. See how he divides his 100 players into various categories to open their eyes to where they stand.

Posting a video on his Instagram with the caption, “Which one are you!? I GOT TIME TODAY,” Deion Sanders enlightens the Buffs with a reality check on reward and work. In the video, he said, “We’re living in a time & era whereas most folks want the REWARD but not the WORK… YOU will NEVER have CONSISTENT SUCCESS or achieve the rewards you desire without the WORK. The reward does not come before the work.”

In his example, he takes 100 players and divides them into different categories for the Buffs to study themselves and know in which category they fall. Out of the 100, 10 players “got it and want it,” 25 of them “think they got it and think they do what it takes to have it,” 25 players “are saying I just need an opportunity to prove I’m Him,”

20 players “already quit emotionally, mentally & physically,” 15 players are confused and “on the fence about transferring,” and 5 players are “trying to figure out how to quit at the right time” so they don’t appear as a “quitter.” This is a strong and direct message from the Buffs HC to his players to wake them up from their stances and this isn’t something new.

Coach Prime is never without inspirational quotes and a recent YouTube upload by Well Off Media portrayed him showering his wisdom on his players after an intense practice. All he wants from his players is the best that they can offer. He said, “Now you guys understand the standard. You see the standard. This ain’t no mistake. And we want to see who would pass out. Who would shatter it down, who would quit, who would lean it to the back. Push yourself.”
The Buffs already had a good start to their spring football practice, where new players are showing promise. New talents like Omarion Miller, LaJohntay Wester, and Jordan Seaton have already racked in praise from their coaches on their first day. The practices will continue till March 25 for a spring break till April 1 before they head back to the field on April 2 leading to their spring game on April 27.
