Featured on NBC Sports Boston’s Next Pats Podcast’, the TE stated that Jones would require a veteran wide receiver.

Gronk believes that a solid addition to the team could propel Jones’ career. He said, “Mac Jones is going to need some help. I believe he’s going to need a wide receiver like a DeAndre Hopkins to come in. A very savvy, veteran wide receiver. On top of that, they’re going to need a first-round pick wide receiver, or a second- or third-rounder as well to help him out and get him to Pro Bowl status.”  But, is name-dropping the talented Cardinals WR who has been in the news because of trade speculation a mere coincidence, or is something afoot?

Gronkowski’s Hopkins suggestion is not the worst idea for Mac Jones’ career.

After enduring controversies with his team this season, DeAndre Hopkins’ potential trade has been a big topic this offseason. If the Cardinals let him go, the NFL world knows that among the teams vying to have the WR on board, the Patriots are quite certainly a rational choice.
