Former Jackson State head coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders was under fire after he relocated to Colorado this month. As a result, the veteran received several criticisms, to which he gave befitting replies. Adding more to his justifications, Sanders revealed the man who stood beside him during this phase of transition.

Ever since Deion Sanders took up the coaching job at Jackson State, the legend changed the entire landscape of HBCUs and uplifted the status of such universities in college football.

Getting a coach of his caliber happens to be a difficult task for schools like JSU; however, Sanders went for community above wealth and fame. While he was speculated to remain for a few more years, Coach Prime made an unexpected decision to leave JSU Tigers and start a new journey in Colorado.

This move irked the fans, who called out the coaching legend and accused him of betraying their trust. However, time and again, Sanders justified his move by taking shots at all those critics.

Recently, the 55-year-old shared a heartwarming post on Instagram, referring to his dear friend and big brother from the NFL world, Robert Brazille. The coach appreciated the efforts and counseling he received from Brazille that helped him get through the transition phase.

“I had to say what I felt, and I really felt what I said. Ain’t no JSU Players, Alumni, or supporters like My dear friend and big brother ROBERT BRAZILLE. He’s been there since DAY 1. He’s counseled me, given me wisdom, understood the vision, and Loved us Thu it all. Love ya 2 life big brother,” he captioned, sharing some photographs.

Deion Sanders makes new commitments

In the end, it’s about making choices, and Sanders deserves to live life according to his wishes. Even civil rights activists like Al Sharpton backed the veteran for taking up the new job. Meanwhile, the former Super Bowl Champions made several promises to the young Boulders squad and started his recruitment process online.

“It is my job and my occupation and my business, and my dream, to bring you back to where you know you should belong,” Sanders motivated the team after assuming his head coach position. “We’re going to have one of the best coaching staffs assembled, some of the best scouts, some of the best kids that we’re recruiting,” he added.

Sanders laid his services for three seasons at Jackson State, and during this tenure, he led the Tigers to their first-ever 12-0 winning streak in program history. Similarly, his 27-5 record became one of the best winning percentages in Division I football. More to come his way as the legend had just started his new journey with the Colorado Boulders.
