Make no mistake, the 2020 NFL season has had its fair share of surprises over the last eight odd weeks. The six-game unbeaten run of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the epic decline of Mike McCarthy’s Dallas Cowboys, and the unprecedented rise of Kyler Murray’s Arizona Cardinals are some of the shockers from the first half of the 2020 NFL season. But there is another contender for this title, in the form of Baker Mayfield-led Cleveland Browns.
The Browns are on a 5-2 record heading into Week Eight. They were dealt a massive blow last week as star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered an ACL tear against the Bengals. He is out for the season. WR Jarvis Landry will have to step up and help RB Kareem Hunt make some big plays for the Browns in Week Eight.
But a certain NFL analyst does not believe that the Browns are ‘serious contenders’ to make the playoffs in 2020.

Popular American analyst Colin Cowherd is not one to beat around the bush. The outspoken sportscaster went all out as he condemned Kevin Stefanski’s Cleveland Browns on the latest segment of The Herd With Colin Cowherd.
While comparing the Browns to AFC North counterparts, Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens, Colin said, “In the last two decades, Cleveland has the worst winning percentage in the entire sport and they’re constantly upset that we don’t give them more press, more respect, more talk.”

“The Browns have become the reality show of the NFL… couples and families that have their act together never go on those shows, it’s just famous losers. But you do kind of stick around because it’s fun to watch them disintegrate and argue over dumb stuff.”

Despite Colin’s harsh criticism, the Browns are currently in the mix for a playoff spot this season. They are third in the AFC North Division table behind Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. Baker Mayfield and Co. must seal a win against Jon Gruden’s Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday to push for honors in the AFC North championship battle.
