For several years, the Aaron Rodgers-led Green Bay Packers have been stalwart playoff contenders out of the NFC. And whenever they missed the mark in the postseason, the criticism was frequently that their receiving corps was not over-the-top and not sturdy. The critique appears to be continuing, as a top NFL insider seriously thinks the same.
This season, Green Bay faced some significant blowouts. One of their top receivers on the roster, Davante Adams, will not be rolling with Wisconsin in the upcoming season. The Packers traded Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target to Vegas, reuniting him with Derek Carr.

Monson mentions that recently, he looked and discovered that Aaron Rodgers’ receiver group might be the worst he has ever faced. Only one other season, in 2015, even remotely resembles it. He has always had a legitimate number one megastar aside from that. Before Adams, it was Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, and Donald Driver.

The PFF analysis continues, “He’s always had that one guy. And when they overlapped, he had a great receiving core. But all of a sudden, you have to trade away Davante Adams. And your replacement was those two guys in the draft or Sammy Watkins, is a kind of low-price type of deal. And on paper, it’s just not a good receiving core.”

Will Aaron Rodgers thrive without Davante Adams this year?
This year has a unique challenge for Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay quarterback enters his 18th NFL campaign this year, but with some significant changes in the team. While Rodgers has some significant fallbacks this season, there are still chances that the Green Bay offense could make some game-winning plays.
Aside from Davante Adams, the only dynamic catcher for the Packers is Aaron Jones. The RB could serve as Aaron’s primary offensive playmaker during the games played without Adams. Although Jones doesn’t perform as a wideout, he might take Davante’s place in 2022 as Rodgers’ new confidante. Furthermore, it is now time for A. J. Dillon, Allen Lazard, and Christian Watson to shine as they are now getting their moment.
