Todd Bowles has only been at the wheels of the pirate ship for less than a year. But his countdown with the team has already begun. Even though there are not many indications from the organization itself, oddsmakers have prophecised a change coming to Tampa Bay Buccaneers soon enough. With Tom Brady looking to be on the last stretch of his long and successful career, the QB is being touted to be joined by a former Super Bowl-winning coach.
Following the development around the Florida-based team this year. Somehow, former New Orleans Saints head coach, Sean Payton, is surging through the odds of becoming the next HC to lead Brady. The offensive mastermind has jumped as the 6th favorite to replace Bowles when the time comes. In some cases, the 59-year-old is in the top 5 as well.

Before this, the duo were close to uniting at the Saints. In TB12’s free agency, Payton was interested in bringing the 7 time Super Bowl champion to his squad. But the talks were shut down, when Saints’ icon, Drew Brees announced his return to the team in 2020. While Jazz city took the NFC South title that year, it was their divisional rivals, the Bucs, who went on to win the Super Bowl with Brady.

Tom Brady and Todd Bowles: Not a great match until now
Todd Bowles took over the role from the departing and future Hall of Fame coach, Bruce Arians. This is the second stint of the former defensive coordinator as a head coach. He was once in charge at the New York Jets, where the 59-year-old had only one winning season, which was in 2015. After performing poorly the following years and ending the 2018 season with a record of 4-12, they removed him from the role.
Bowles bounced back with 3 consecutive impressive seasons in Tampa Bay. But since the departure of Arians, the team has really struggled to get their offense going this season. The team ranks 27th in points per game (17.7) this season, which is a huge decline from their past season (29.0) when they were ranked 3rd. However, thanks to an underwhelming division, the Bucs still lead NFC South with a record of 7-8.
