Week 13 will mark the return of Deshaun Watson to the NFL. The schedule planned his return amusingly; Watson’s regular-season debut with the Browns would be against his former team, the Texans. With the game fast approaching, an NFL legend laid out his theories on the returning quarterback after a long layoff. His thoughts appear to be critical of the Browns quarterback.

In an interview with Fox Sports Digital, football legend Joe Montana spoke about a legion of topics. He opened up about the dominance of Tom Brady and also spoke about the returning Deshaun Watson. His bold stance over the QB1 could shatter the hopes of the fans in Cleveland, Ohio.

Joe Montana mentioned, “Guys are used to getting hurt and missing a number of games, and it’ll take a while, even in practice, to get used to things. But he’ll jump in the saddle fairly quick. Obviously with a different team, so that’ll take a little bit of adjusting also at the same time.”

“But how well will he perform? I put my money that he’d be average, maybe a little bit better (than average) than what he’s normally playing at just because, no matter what you really do in practice and how physically you stay in shape or do the things you need to do, there’s nothing like the real-time game stuff. And it’ll take him a little bit. I don’t think it’ll take him too long to get back in the swing, but it’ll take a game or two,” He added.

Given that the season has reached Week 13, Montana’s statement could be very concerning for the Browns.
