Antonio Brown is an infamous name in the NFL. His controversial lifestyle goes far beyond his antics on the field of the league. Apart from him making his exit from the NFL after ditching Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers mid-game last season, he’s not failed to find himself in more troubled waters. From not paying child support to his ownership crisis of the Albany Empire, it has been a tumultuous time for Antonio Brown all-over.

But did you know, when AB was searching for a team to sign a contract with, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr made an intriguing $20 million offer to teams to acquire AB? Yes, you heard it right. $20 million just to sign Antonio Brown. But there were a few conditions applied to it.

During an episode of the podcast called “The Pivot’, Mayweather Jr talked about how he felt that AB was one of the most misunderstood NFL players in the league. He felt that the image Antonio Brown carried was unfair and that AB just wanted to be treated fairly. He then went on to make a lucrative offer on the show.

Mayweather went on to say, “And this is for any team that’s watching right now. We’ll make them a deal. If they sign AB and AB go through the whole season, no problems at all, then they gotta give us $20 million. But if he mess up, then we’ve gotta give them $20 million. So if any team want to match that, you know, reach us out.” It seems that the boxer was ready to bet on AB and his future, and wanted him to succeed in his life.

AB tries to berate Floyd Mayweather

After the boxer tried to back-up Antonio Brown, the ex-NFL star decided it would be a good idea to try to expose his friend and his alleged true colors. Last year, the duo were seen hanging out together. That is when a fan tried to get a picture together with both Mayweather and Brown. But the boxer jokingly asked the fan not to bring AB into the picture and take a solo picture with him. This did not seem to sit well with Brown, who took to Twitter to share the clip, writing in the caption, “Guess boxers not used sharing attention per source.”
