Aaron Rodgers is a huge asset for the Packers. He is not just a great quarterback but he is also an effective leader. However, with an effective leader, the management of a pro-team needs to build a foundation of players that can be led. However, the Green Bay Packers management made some moves that were pretty groundbreaking.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback will now be playing without one of his biggest targets that he used to pass the ball to. The management might be making some moves from their side, but one must wonder what their reasons behind a move this late into the season are. The Packers have ultimately decided to part ways with the 2014 fourth-overall pick, Sammy Watkins.

As of the day of his release, the receiver had 206 yards in nine games. He had also caught 13 of 22 targets from Rodgers and Jordan Love. He was certainly one of Rodgers’ potential targets in the game. However, the receiver had missed 4 early games due to a hamstring injury and wasn’t very effective while playing since he returned in Week 7, as per CBS Sports. The wide receiver will now go on waivers. This might make things tougher for Rodgers on the field, as he has lost yet another target.

Aaron Rodgers and his dwindling targets
A-Rod has been trying to make his team win more games with his skill. However, the harsh reality is that no matter how good a QB he is, he still needs good receivers. After being pampered by good receivers throughout his career, it seems that Rodgers might be short this time. After Watkins has been traded, the best target that remains right now for the QB is Christian Watson. The quarterback is not pampered anymore and the time when he had brilliant targets like Davante Adams is gone. The quarterback is practically running this team targetless.
The quarterback is going to have to pull something new out of his bag because his WR list is looking a little empty. The question remains is how well will the quarterback work with the talent he has left?
