Aaron Rodgers is living his best life in New York City. Ever since he was traded to the bright lights of The Big Apple, Rodgers has become a completely different person from his grumpy past with the Green Bay Packers. But even with his altered personality, his playing history seems to be a major concern, warns a longtime critic of the star.

The 39-year-old Rodgers drew heavy criticism in the last few years due to a string of disappointments with the Packers. While his trade to the Jets has been a breath of fresh air for his personal life, the questions about his performance on the field are what concern many fans, including his decade-old critic, Colin Cowherd.

Aaron Rodgers has a singular goal with the Jets. The opportunity to win a Super Bowl. But as Colin Cowherd spoke about on his podcast, the recent past of Rodgers does not signal a bright future. With Coach Nathaniel Hackett rejoining Rodgers to rekindle their Packers chemistry, the red flags from their disastrous last year are worrisome for Cowherd.

Nathaniel Hackett’s coming off a bruising, ugly performance in Denver. So I do feel the pressure is really on Aaron to run the offense, and he’s okay at that. But he can also be a little aloof and a little disengaged at times,” Cowherd said to Ian O’Connor, his guest on the podcast.

Both Rodgers and his OC Hackett had rough years with their respective teams. But with the two now starring under the massive spotlight cast by New York media, the pressure and the expectations are going to skyrocket from their fanbase.

“He (Rodgers) can be a little bit of a finger pointer, a little passive-aggressive when thing things go south. New York is going to force you to answer tough questions,” Cowherd said, pointing out the flaws in Rodgers spearheading the Jets offense on his own. Thankfully for New York fans, the offensive mastermind of Rodgers seems to be functioning in overdrive right now.

With the training camps and preseason games yet to begin, Rodgers has spent limited time with his Jets teammates instilling a brand new offensive scheme. However, the QB made a rare appearance in the OTA’s prior to training camps to make sure he can spend as much time gelling with his team, and creating the seamless offenses that Rodgers is used to mastering.

While the influence of reuniting Rodgers with his Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett has been a major move by the Jets in creating an offensive scheme centered around the 4 time MVP, the on-field results have been the most important part of the process.

Throughout practice, Rodgers’ teammates have incredulously gawked at his offensive prowess, as they try to find the tricks and ticks that the QB implements on a play-by-play basis to bend defenses. With just under a month left for training camps to kick off, Rodgers and the Jets will need every second of practice to squeeze out the potential of their high-octane offense.
